Writing
I specialize in arts and entertainment writing, but I've covered everything from the aftermath of Hurricane Irma to a 93-year-old wooden boatbuilder's life story. On this site you'll find some of my favorites.
Editing
I edit every piece that goes in the Wyoming Tribune Eagle's ToDo and Journey sections, which includes event previews, Q&As, profiles, outdoors stories, movie and music reviews and more.
Photography
In the past five years I've become well-versed in the photography of events, people, food, art, performance and more. This site contains some of my best work — take a look around and you will only find original photos.
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Niki. I'm a Chicagoland native who studied journalism in Missouri (is it too cringey to say #MizzouMade? Probably, but too late) before moving to Sarasota, Florida to write and photograph for a weekly newspaper. After a little more than three years at that publication, I took a features writing/editing job in Cheyenne, Wyoming to be closer to loved ones and get a sense of what this whole "Wild West" deal is all about (turns out it means getting caught in some pretty nasty wind and snow storms - thankfully I've yet to come across a Wyomingite who isn't willing to help me push my car out of the snow).

Like all journalists, I love to learn and I love to get to know people. When those people have a story that I think needs to be told, I have the privilege of sharing it with my audience.

I have a soft spot for arts coverage, but I've written about everything from après-ski activities to electroconvulsive therapy. I like to think I'm able to connect with people in a way that makes my writing more heartfelt, and I hope you agree.
